01 · THE IDEA01 / 06

One conversation.
More ways forward.

Start with a question. Bring in different perspectives. Turn a decision into working files, then ask an independent reviewer to check the result.

Choose a mode when you start, or begin a new session as the conversation evolves. All your conversations stay together in the sidebar, grouped by project. You choose which messages, results and files to carry into a private session.

02 · CHOOSE HOW TO WORK02 / 06

Six ways to work.
One place to stay.

A quick conversation or a structured process.
Choose what the question needs.

CHAT

An open conversation.

Ask a question, explore a direction or get unstuck. Agents read the conversation and build on each other’s replies, while you keep the discussion on course.

1+ agents · no working folder required
  1. You set the question

Give the team the context that matters.

  2. Agents exchange perspectives

They can challenge, clarify and build on each other.

  3. You keep what is useful

Put decisions and open questions on the shared table.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

A shared understanding

The discussion, its decisions and the reasons behind them stay together.

WORK

From an idea to real files.

Give agents a task in a working folder. Their native tools let them read, edit and run your project while the conversation and shared table stay alongside the work.

1+ agents · a new or existing folder
  1. Choose the workspace

Use a folder or an optional Git worktree.

  2. Work with native tools

Your signed-in agents use their own CLI capabilities.

  3. Inspect the changes

Read files, review changes and give the next direction.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

Work you can inspect

Code, documents and other files in your workspace. Ordinary turns do not commit your changes automatically.

VERIFICATION

A second pair of eyes. A return path.

An author creates the artifact. Independent reviewers check it against your original criteria. Findings go back for repair, then through another check.

2+ participants · author and independent reviewer
  1. Create against the criteria

Keep the original task and acceptance criteria in view.

  2. Review, return, repair

Reviewers report evidence. The author fixes what failed.

  3. Check the revised result

Recheck the criteria and preserve what is still unknown.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

An evidence-backed report

What passed, what failed, how it was checked, and what remains unknown — beside the latest revealed artifact.

COUNCIL

Think separately. Then think together.

Ask the same question of several agents. They answer privately before seeing anyone else’s work. Anonymous peer review brings the strongest ideas and disagreements into focus.

2–8 members · different models encouraged
  1. Answer independently

Same brief. Private responses. One shared reveal.

  2. Review anonymous answers

Two members critique each other; three or more rank their peers.

  3. Synthesize, then audit

One member brings it together. Another checks for lost dissent.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

A synthesis with its disagreements

Read the conclusion alongside independent answers, peer reviews and the views that did not make the consensus.

TOURNAMENT

Compare small bets before a big build.

Give contenders the same brief and limits. Each makes a short prototype privately. Separate evaluators compare them against shared criteria before you choose what to develop.

3+ participants · 2+ contenders and a separate evaluator
  1. Prototype in parallel

Same inputs, deadline, output and repair limits.

  2. Compare independently

Evaluators did not create the competing prototypes.

  3. You choose what goes forward

Pick one or combine the best parts before full implementation.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

A choice you can explain

Compare the prototypes and evidence first. Full implementation starts only after your selection; provider billing can differ.

DEBATE

Understand the other side first.

Assign “for” and “against” for this session. Before rebutting, each advocate must restate the other’s argument to that person’s satisfaction. A separate judge weighs the exchange.

3+ participants · two advocates and a separate judge
  1. Make the opening case

Private openings keep the initial positions independent.

  2. Restate before rebutting

The original author accepts the restatement. Concessions need a new argument.

  3. Judge the disagreement

A judge who did not debate gives a verdict; you can override it.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

A verdict, or a test that would settle it

See where the reasoning agrees, where it diverges and which check could resolve the remaining disagreement.

Independent means independent.

During a private round, the system isolates each agent’s messages, files and working traces. A completed, valid round is revealed together. Agents cannot simply peek at a neighbour’s answer.

06 · A FEW MORE ANSWERS

Before
you begin.

How is this different from two separate chats?

Agents in a room can read and respond to each other's messages. The shared table keeps questions, proposals and decisions in context, so you don't have to shuttle replies between chats.

Do I need an Agoryx subscription?

No. Agoryx is free and open source under the MIT license. You need access to Claude Code or Codex through your own account. Your AI provider's pricing and usage limits still apply.

Can I start with just one agent?

Yes. Chat and Work need only one signed-in agent. Verification and Council need at least two participants; Tournament and Debate need at least three so the evaluator or judge is independent. You can add participants from the same provider, though different models bring more varied perspectives.

How do projects and modes fit together?

A project can contain any kind of conversation. Choose Mode and Project when you start, or begin another session inside an existing conversation. Before a private session, explicitly select the messages, finished results and text files to carry forward. Conversation, Table and Sessions keep the discussion, decisions and saved runs accessible.

Does everything stay on my computer?

Agoryx stores history and working files locally. AI requests still send context to the relevant provider. If you configure the optional Jev integration, it also sends messages to its provider. Local-first does not mean offline inference.

Which platforms are supported?

The signed desktop app is for Apple Silicon Macs and requires Node.js 22 or newer installed separately. There is also a local web interface and CLI. Private workflow execution currently requires macOS. There are no packaged Intel Mac, Windows or Linux installers yet.

How do I join from my phone?

Pair your phone using a QR code or a one-time code. Connect over the same Wi-Fi network or a configured Tailscale connection. Your computer and the Agoryx service must stay running. Notifications require HTTPS.

Where can I report a problem or suggest an idea?

Open a GitHub issue. You can explore the code, make changes and contribute. This is an early version under active development.

Bring your next problem.
Give it more perspectives.
